Accessibility Statement for Prospero Health App

Effective Date: 05 Dec 2024
Version: 1.0

How we’re making our app accessible

Here at Prospero Health, we want our app to be enjoyable for everyone, so we are committed to accessibility, diversity, and inclusion.

We take the following measures to remove possible barriers to and improve the accessibility of our digital products:

  • Making accessibility a core part of our mission statement, internal policies, guidelines, and practices, including our product development lifecycle

  • Providing continual accessibility training for staff involved in the design and development of our digital products

  • Assigning clear accessibility goals and responsibilities to teams involved in the design and development of our digital products

  • Engaging with consultants to perform Accessibility Audits on our app, and provide advice on how to make our product more accessible to our target audiences.

  • Complying with formal accessibility quality assurance methods

Our current conformance status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) is an international standard that explains how to make online content more accessible to people with disabilities. The guidelines define three levels of conformance: A, AA, and AAA.

Our app, Prospero Health, is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully meet the requirements of the standard currently, but we are constantly working towards improving our digital accessibility stance.

Our assessment approach

We assessed the accessibility of our digital products by engaging external accessibility consultants to review the app and provide an accessibility report with issues and recommendations.

Current identified areas for improvement are:

1) Better accessibility for people who are blind or low vision, using screen readers.

  • Include accessible labels for forms, buttons, images etc to assist with screen readers

  • Ensure content is semantically appropriate to assist with screen readers (this includes the Calendar on the home page)

  • Include tables of data as alternatives to visual interactive graphs

2) Better accessibility for people with low vision, requiring a larger scaled display.

  • Ensure all text is legible when resizing text up to 200% on the mobile device.

  • Ensure all content is laid out and displayed appropriately when the display is resized or zoomed on the mobile device.

3) Improved features for people with impaired cognitive or motor skills

  • Provide an alternative login (such as Google or Facebook Login) that doesn’t require fine motor skills or the user to remember a username and password.
